What's it like on a sailing boat?

The interior of a sailboat is very similar to that of a house. You will find a lounge area, kitchen, bedrooms, toilets, and a balcony (deck)!
Although smaller than home, the space inside sailing boats is more compact and utilized efficiently to make life on the boat extremely comfortable. There are usually between 2 and 4 cabins, accommodating up to 10 passengers, a skipper, and a host / guide if needed.

The difference in the shape and size of a catamaran means that, although the main elements of the boat are the same, a larger common space can be found. Deciding between a sailboat and a catamaran can be influenced by a variety of different factors, including:

Comfort

Catamarans, especially those over 12 m long, become significantly spacious on deck and below. They can also be more comfortable to sail and navigate due to their more balanced body.

Experience

Conventional sailing boats are ideal for those who want to experience or to learn the art of Sailing. Catamarans are usually heavier and slower.

Availability

There are many more sailboats than catamarans, and therefore, there is greater supply for regular sailboats.

Budget

Due to the fact that there is less supply, and that these are larger boats, with costly maintenance, sailing excursions catamarans are more expensive.
